If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude. - Colin Powell  

The Elite 11 is a competition within the Cavalier Football Program to find the best of the best – those athletes willing to put in the time and work throughout the year bettering themselves in the weight room. The competition consists of 3 strength exercises – Squat, Bench Press and Hang Clean, combined with 3 speed tests – the 40yd dash, Pro Agility test, and a 300yd Shuttle.

The goal of the Elite 11 test is not merely to crown the strongest or fastest members of the team. Instead, the Elite 11 honor identifies individuals who have demonstrated to the team a commitment to athletic excellence. Members of the Elite 11 serve as role models who have worked hard, participated in off-season strength and conditioning, and arrived at camp in the best possible shape ready to lead the team in the pursuit of a successful season.
